What are your top 5 neighbourhoods in Mississauga? What do you think about when you hear the word Mississauga? Well I’ll tell you what I think. We have an incredible Mayor. We have a great transit system. We have our own highway. We are home to many transnational corporations. And last but not least, Pearson International airport is in Mississauga. So take that!!!

Within the city of Mississauga we have a ton of communities that are vastly diverse and vibrant. I’ve taken the time to compile what I think are the top 5 neighbourhoods in Mississauga.

1) Lorne Park
This is perhaps my favorite neighbourhood in all of Mississauga. Why? Because of the gorgeous, incredibly beautiful homes, the mature trees, and the exclusive feel to the entire neighbourhood. This is the kind of neighbourhood an individual aspires to live in. Lorne Park is a mostly affluent neighbourhood filled with highly educated individuals from a mixed demographic. Some of the homes are custom-built mansions on large lots, some back onto green-space, and some back onto the Credit River. Lorne Park boasts 3 of the Top 10 elementary schools in Mississauga along with one of the top Secondary Schools (Lorne Park Secondary School) in the city. The neighborhood borders Port Credit so it ‘shares’ its amazing amenities.

2) Port Credit
I LOVE Port Credit. Port Credit has a gorgeous harbour area and you can see Toronto in the distance. Port Credit fronts onto Lake Ontario and has a ‘resort-like’ feel that has awesome parks with small beaches, amazing shops and restaurants. This neighbourhood also has its own GO Station and fast access to the QEW. Real estate in Port Credit offers a great mix from condos that sit right on the water’s edge all the way to larger, more luxurious homes. This is a gorgeous neighbourhood – an area where you can take your entire family and have fun.

3) Central Erin Mills
An awesome neighbourhood, Central Erin Mills is home to the following: Erin Mills Town Centre Mall, Credit Valley Hospital, Highway 403, Parks, Recreation Facilities and boasts two of the top Secondary Schools in Mississauga for both the Catholic Board and Peel Board. What more could you possibly want? What’s even cooler is that Central Erin Mills is actually sandwiched between Streetsville and Churchill Meadows. So the above two neighbourhoods “share” Central Erin Mills’ excellent amenities.

4) Streetsville
The “Village in the City” – and it is just that. A really nice, quaint little village that has a very European feel to it. Just take a walk in spring/summer and you’ll see what I mean. For the downtown travelers, Streetsville has its own GO station with both bus and train access. From great restaurants to yoga studios, the stretch of shops has anything and everything. The neighbourhood has a cool mix of homes – townhomes, traditional 2-storeys, old and custom-built bungalows and even low-rise condos. There’s also a stretch of homes that back onto the Credit River and mature trees surround the neighbourhood. Streetsville is home to the famous ‘Vista Heights P.S.’ – one of the top Elementary Schools in Mississauga.

5) Churchill Meadows
One of the newest neighbourhoods of Mississauga, Churchill Meadows has its own community plaza that has a huge Shoppers Drugmart, doctor’s office, dental office, restaurants, a 24-hour Sobey’s, and….a TIM HORTONS! The neighbourhood has beautiful parks, fantastic schools and everything is practically within walking distance. There is a huge mix of real estate here – from small townhomes all the way up to huge, $1 million+ homes.
